At Open Minds we believe there is no ‘one-size-fits-all’ approach. We recognise that every child is different and has their own learning style. Many children show improvement quickly, whilst some need more time to build their confidence.
Our Approach
Lesson Format: Our tuition is provided in small groups, with a maximum of 4 children to 1 tutor. The lessons are 80 minutes long, and are balanced by age group with shorter tasks for younger children.
Engaging Minds: We use a diverse range of computer software and traditional worksheets to keep children challenged and motivated, and provide regular feedback to parents to help them understand how their child is progressing, and where they might need more focus and attention.
Quality Tutoring: All of our tutors are fully qualified teachers, who have many years of experience in teaching their specialist subject, and have been DBS checked (formerly CRB).
Free Assessment: Each child is first assessed and provided a tailored learning plan to help them achieve their personal goals. Whilst we cover the National Curriculum, the level of work during our lessons is based on the child’s ability and rate of progress, not the school year they are in.
